About the project

Because the international company JUB d.o.o. wanted a cheaper and more reliable alternative to their heat and power supply and improve their self-sufficiency, Interenergo evaluated various options in terms of technical and economic suitability and company needs. Interenergo experts chose cogeneration as the best solution and appropriately assessed the need for the combined production of heat and power (CHP). The company used to receive all electricity from the grid and heat its premises using gas boilers. As part of the renovation, Interenergo installed an additional CHP plant with 360 kW of power and 390 kW of heat output. The JUB industrial building will now have a self-sufficiency rate of 68 and 72 per cent in power and heat, respectively.

From now on gas boilers will only cover peak loads and serve as a backup in the event of CHP malfunction while the implementation of a central control system will allow remote control and operation. With improved energy efficiency and lower primary energy consumption, the company will benefit from financial savings and a reliable supply of heat and electricity. At the same time, the new system will reduce JUB’s CO2 emissions by 600 tons per year, which is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by 24,000 trees in a year.
